Traumatic Thursday

It had been a real roller coaster ride.

To me its a crisis.

And whenever I meet with this infrequent event,
all things fall apart,
naturally.

There will always be
unreturned phone calls,
unreplied sms
unanswered voicemails.

The reason is
I am a problem solver.
When I get into that mode
I focus until a suitable solution is found
to abate the crisis.

In that time-frame,
I will be in the middle
of that turbulent world.
Until chaos meet order,
my mind will be meeting that wave head-on.

Thursday was one such day.
29 hours of chaos
and still continuing.

I apologise if I had not been
as available as required.

It was rough.
And I hope it wasn't
as rough for you.

Before I caught my
1 hour sleep
this morning, I decided to
warm my emotions up a little
with this clip.

Have a Fantastic Friday !

Financial Planning

In my appointment yesterday
I revisited and reaffirmed
my duty and purpose
as a financial planner.

The client has problems
which is not uncommon to many people today.

For the client, I became a reality check.
Looking back, my words were cold and of little comfort.
I didn't expect the client to be able to sit thru
the 2 hours review session with me.
Uncomfy - yes but a stark reminder.

At that point, I know
this client cannot afford to get
financial product from me.

Yet, I kept going.
I didn't scold the client of course.
I encouraged the client to make a decision.
To solve the financial problems.
To shelve dreams and aspirations.
To deal with it now.

It was decided.
And I am happy to have done it together with the client.
We created the Plan.
The solution.

Even though it was a bitter pill to swallow
for the client,
I am glad I was there to help.

Some may think I wasted time.
Wasted money cos I bought coffee.
I didn't think so,
instead I believe that
in the more divine scheme of things
I am the right person to help
this person at that time,
to make a life-changing move for the better.

That to me is one of the key purpose of being
a Financial Planner.

Still Tinkering Around

I realised that I am not as savvy with IT stuff
as before.

Been trying to affix a counter to this blog
but to no success.

Aaaargh... must be old liao.
Slow.

ABBA

Lotsa memories flood back with those songs from immortalised ABBA.

Could still remember watching their performance on my grandmas old boxy TV in our kampung home.

They were the craze and it seems that they are still the craze.
Mambo still worship them every Wednesday with youngsters dancing to cult-like dance moves.

But it was a good movie. Featuring some less played songs of ABBA.
And most importantly,
I smiled through the movie with good company.
Nice.

The only Korean song that I can sing completely.

Yes and I can do the dance too.

Welcome to my blog.
